I love seeing characters grow and change, especially when they start in a rough place and have a really strong redemption arc or just incredible development throughout the series. Shows like 'Vinland Saga' (Thorfinn's journey!) come to mind. What are some other anime with truly satisfying character progression?
Zuko from 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' (yes, it's technically Western animation, but has huge anime influence) has one of the best redemption arcs EVER. Absolutely iconic. 🔥
'Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation' - Rudeus starts as a total degenerate, but the show really commits to showing his growth and struggles. It's a long journey, but incredibly well done.
Meruem from 'Hunter x Hunter' (Chimera Ant arc) has an unbelievably complex and moving character arc. Goes from pure evil to something else entirely. It's masterful writing.
'Re:Zero' is all about Subaru's development. He starts off pretty insufferable, but through immense suffering, he grows into a much stronger and more capable person. It's a painful but rewarding watch.
Eren Yeager in 'Attack on Titan' has a crazy character development arc, though 'redemption' might not be the right word depending on how you see it! But he definitely changes drastically.
