Best & Worst Anime Game Adaptations - Discuss!

Forum Thread

Mystic Sage

So many anime get video game adaptations, but few really nail it. What are your all-time favorite anime games that actually did the source material justice? And on the flip side, which ones completely missed the mark and felt like a cash grab?

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot was fantastic for immersing me in the story, even with its RPG elements. But SAO games usually feel so clunky and uninspired, even for big fans. 😩

Attack on Titan 2 was surprisingly good! The ODM gear felt amazing to use. Worst? Probably that first Black Clover game on PS4, it was just... there.

Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm series always delivers. The cinematic fights are top-tier! As for bad, I remember some early Bleach games being really repetitive and not fun.

Hard agree on Kakarot! It really captured the DBZ vibe. For worst, I'd say most of the early Fairy Tail games were pretty meh. They just didn't have the magic.

Okay, controversial, but the first My Hero One's Justice was pretty disappointing. But I loved the visual novel parts of the Danganronpa games, they're perfect adaptations!
