Characters like:

Suguru Geto Makima Garou Eren Yeager

just feel way more psychologically interesting than “evil because evil” villains from older battle anime.

Modern villains feel way more morally messy which makes them interesting.

Nah nothing beats legendary villains from older anime for me personally
