Been re-reading the manga and I have a wild theory. Given the current events and his connection to Pochita, do you think Denji will eventually lose his humanity entirely and become a full Devil like Makima? It feels like it could be the ultimate tragic end for him.
Nah, I don't think so. His desire for a normal life is too strong. Pochita also seems to protect his human side. He'll always be Denji, just super powerful.
It's possible, especially if he suffers another huge loss. The trauma could push him over the edge. Imagine how powerful he'd be then! Scary thought.
I lean towards him staying human but with more devilish traits. A hybrid status allows for more interesting character development than a complete transformation, imo.
It'd be a bold move by Fujimoto, but I could see it happening. His story is all about loss and transformation. Becoming a full devil would be the ultimate transformation.
Maybe not full devil, but more integrated with Pochita. A new kind of being. Humanity and devil merging, not one consuming the other.
