We saw Sasuke get the Rinnegan from Hagoromo, but do you think Naruto, being an Uzumaki and Ashura's reincarnation, could have eventually unlocked it naturally? Or was it always exclusive to Indra's descendants or Hagoromo's direct gift?

Nah, Rinnegan is specifically for Indra's lineage mixed with Ashura's, or Hagoromo's chakra. Naruto had the latter part but not the former naturally.
I think if he combined his Six Paths Sage Mode with some Uchiha cells, it might have been possible, but not naturally just from his Uzumaki/Ashura heritage.
Maybe if he fused with a powerful Sharingan user's chakra? It seems to be about combining the two main lineages. Naruto alone wouldn't cut it.
The Uzumaki clan are distant relatives of the Senju, who are Ashura's descendants. So, he already had half the equation. It's a solid theory if he found the right catalyst!
I like to think he could have! His destiny was to surpass everyone. It would just have taken a different path than Sasuke's, maybe through extreme training or a unique sealing technique.
