I've watched so many high school romance anime, and while some are good, I'm really looking for something different. Can anyone recommend romance anime that takes place outside of high school, perhaps with adult characters or unique settings? Something more mature or just fresh!
Wotakoi: Love Is Hard for Otaku is perfect for this! It follows adult otaku navigating work and relationships. It's super relatable and hilarious. 😂
Spice and Wolf is an amazing fantasy romance between a traveling merchant and a wise wolf deity. Their witty banter and developing relationship are captivating. Seriously good!
Recovery of an MMO Junkie is a cute and wholesome romance about two adults who meet through an online game. It's incredibly sweet and relatable for gamers.
Sing 'Yesterday' for Me is a more realistic and melancholic adult romance about post-college life and finding your path. It's a bit slow but very thoughtful.
Fruits Basket (2019 remake) eventually moves beyond just high school, and the adult relationships and themes become incredibly prominent and well-handled. Highly recommended if you want depth!
