Gear 5 is absolutely insane, turning Luffy into a cartoon reality bender! But is there a hidden cost or a real limit to its power that we haven't seen yet? Can he just literally do anything now, or are there specific rules to his "imagination" power? It feels a little too broken.
It's not truly limitless, it's still tied to his Haki and stamina. He clearly gets drained after using it for too long. He's not invincible, just very, very strong.
I think the limit is his own imagination AND what he can perceive as 'cartoonish'. He can't just wish Big Mom out of existence, but he can turn the ground into rubber.
Remember when he almost died after using it against Lucci? It's powerful, but the recoil is huge. He's got a big target on his back now too. 😩
He still needs to master it. We've seen him run out of steam multiple times. Plus, there are characters with insane Haki or specific devil fruit counters out there.
Invincible? No. But definitely in the Yonko tier now, if not higher. Only a few characters can even stand up to that level of absurdity.
