Hunter x Hunter might seem shonen, but its world-building, especially the Nen power system, is incredibly detailed and consistently applied. The Chimera Ant arc world is wild!
Short anime (12-24 eps) with great story?
Odd Taxi! Only 13 episodes, a mystery/drama with anthropomorphic animals, but it's incredibly well-written and has a satisfying ending. Highly recommend!
