Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit features Balsa, a spear-wielding bodyguard who is one of the most badass and honorable female protagonists ever. Amazing action and character development!
Claymore! It's a dark fantasy series with an entire cast of powerful female warriors. Clare is a fantastic lead, and the fights are incredible.
Psycho-Pass, especially the first season, has Akane Tsunemori who starts as an idealist but grows into an incredibly strong and capable enforcer. Excellent character arc!
Ghost in the Shell (especially the movies/SAC) with Major Motoko Kusanagi is iconic. She's intelligent, powerful, and incredibly complex. A true sci-fi legend. 🤖
Violet Evergarden! Her journey to understand emotions and help others is incredibly moving. She's strong in a very different, emotional way. So beautiful. 💖
Mushishi has Ginko as the lead, and while technically gender-neutral, the female voice actor and her portrayal make Ginko an incredibly compelling and strong character. A calm, episodic masterpiece. 🌿
