I've never really gotten into mecha anime but I'm curious to try! What are some good entry points into the genre that aren't too overwhelming for a beginner? Something with a good story would be a plus. I'm open to anything!

Gurren Lagann is pure hype! It's over-the-top, action-packed, and has incredible character development. A perfect entry point into mecha. Drill to the heavens! ✨
Code Geass! It blends mecha action with political intrigue, strategy, and a compelling anti-hero protagonist. It's super engaging and easy to get into.
Mobile Suit Gundam 00 is a good standalone Gundam series with great action, political themes, and cool mecha designs. Doesn't require prior knowledge of Gundam.
SSSS.Gridman is a stylish and fun mecha show that's a bit more modern and has a good mystery element. The fights are awesome!
Neon Genesis Evangelion is iconic, but it's very psychological and can be heavy. Maybe watch it after you've dipped your toes in with something like Gurren Lagann.
